About the Juror

Juror – Megan Benitz, Registrar and Exhibitions Manager, Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art

Megan Benitz is the Registrar and Exhibitions Manager at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art in St. Joseph, Missouri.  She has served as Interim Executive Director since January 2020.  Megan received both her B.A. and M.A. in Art History from the University of Kansas. She served as an intern and part-time staff member at the AKMA before spending 3 years as the Director of the L.E. “Gus” Shafer Gallery at Barton Community College before re-joining the staff of the AKMA in 2010. 

Megan has curated over a dozen exhibitions.  Her most recent exhibitions include co-curating Cows! Reflections on Romantic Visions and Reality in Rural Life over Time (September 13-November 3, 2019, Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art) and curating Albrecht Gallery: The Early Years (April 8-June 5, 2016, Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art)  and Story of a Moment: James Pringle Cook (January 14-April 2, 2017, Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art)
