CURRENT WORKS 2016- Call For Entry

Current Works is Kansas City Society for Contemporary Photography’s second annual juried members’ exhibit, presented in partnership with Dolphin Archival Printing and will, again, exhibit in the upstairs gallery of Haw Contemporary.

All KCSCP members are invited to submit images. A submission of up to 5 images is $35 for all members. We will send you an invoice for your entry fee once your images are submitted.

If you are not currently a member and would like to submit work to this show, you can do so by becoming a member for $35.00 no later than October 7th, 2016.

All works must have been produced between November 2015 and September 2016. We are looking for a broad range of photography styles and processes that represent the diversity of our membership.

Subject matter is open. All images must be created from your original photography as the foundation of your work and within the time frame mentioned above. Original works will be accepted in all photographic mediums: Digital, Film, Alternative Processes, Black and White or Color. No pornographic or defamatory images.

This exhibit will be juried by Larry Meeker, one of the most prolific art collectors in Kansas City.  He not only collects art but also is a long-time advocate for the arts and artists by promoting through numerous non-profit and city arts programs.  He is well known amongst many curators, artists and gallerists. more about Juror Larry Meeker


Members may submit 1-5 images

Title Guidelines:
Last Name_first name_title.jpg
Example:. Doe_Jane_Life.jpg
Use underscores instead of dashes or spaces.

Image Format:
72 ppi resolution
1,200 pixels on the longest side
sRGB or RGB color space (standard)
JPG format, compression at level 7
No watermark
(Your copyright will be maintained in the metadata.)

If your entry does not follow the above guidelines it will be disqualified.



Accepted artwork when exhibited must meet the following criteria for exhibition:
•Final outside dimensions should be a minimum 20″ and maximum 30″.
• Must be ready to hang, with name, medium and price on the back. (a form will be sent for works accepted).
• Works that do not require framing are accepted, but need to be presented in a professional manner. Please contact us at If you have any questions or concerns.

Accepted work delivered to the gallery that does not comply with all the specified requirements will not be exhibited.



•Entry deadline: October 7, 2016
•Notification to accepted works: October 14-15, 2016
•Deliver accepted work : November 5, 7-8, 2016
•Exhibition opens: November 11, 2016
•Artists’ reception: November 11, 2015
•Exhibition closes: December 24, 2015
•Work pick up: December 28, 2016



The work should be for sale. KCSCP will retain 50% of the sale price. Please price your work accordingly. The gallery is not responsible for the loss or damage of works while in transit or while on display. Haw Contemporary and KCSCP reserve the right to reproduce accepted photographs on our website’s digital gallery, and in any advertising and promotion associated with this exhibition.

All works selected for exhibition must be ready to hang. KCSCP will provide the opening reception, marketing and advertising for the exhibition. You are also encouraged to promote the exhibit on your personal social media, email, etc. KCSCP has the right to refuse work that differs from the original submission and selection by the juror, or work it considers pornographic or defamatory.
