Wet Plate Collodion is a process where an emulsion is poured onto a glass or metal plate and made light sensitive in a bath of silver nitrate. The plate is exposed in camera while still wet. Once exposed it is developed and placed in a fixative that will prevent it from fading and is viewable in light. The result is an ethereal reverse positive image that has a lifespan of hundreds of years.
The participants can bring their own props to photograph as long as the are 6″ or larger, but steve will provide a tub of props to use. Portraits can also be made. The photograph will be made in camera only.
