You will RSVP for the exhibitions listed below, only those you wish to be a part of.  We will show a single piece from a maximum of 30 artists.  You can sign up for all three, however, if you are in one or two of the other shows, priority will be given to those who have yet to exhibit.

Here is the schedule and themes and artist reception dates for 2019.

January – Light and Form

The key to photography is light and shadow and how it transforms objects.  With this exhibit we asked our artists to come up with an image that best suits this theme.  Studying how shapes change by the changing of the light direction.  These works will depict anything from architecture, to a portrait or even a pebble. All addressing the interaction of an object with light.

Abstract – “art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures”.  Making the familiar strange or esoteric.  Images that give the viewer pause as to what the subject could it be in the image.

These works will depict imagery from an urban setting such as the heart of a condensed city, to the wild of the forests or oceans or the wildness of living in the urban core. These works will compare and contrast the two topics leaving the viewer to decide for themselves the idea of cacophony or peace.

EVENTS:

On December 8th we will co-host with ASMP-KC (American Society of Media Photographers) a holiday party in our gallery.  This will be an RSVP event with a suggested donation of $5 to help allay costs.

We are planning on having guest photographic art speakers. One for each month, and possibly an evening planned for two members to speak about their work.  These will be held in the evening as the gallery is too bright during the day for a slide show.

Our social events will be held in the gallery on the 1st Wednesday of each month.  I hope you will join us.  This is especially for those who wanted time to get together and talk with other artists.

GET INVOLVED

We need volunteers too.   If you would like to volunteer, even if you are not exhibiting let us know.  We can get you on our volunteer list.  Duties such as setting up for events, receptions, prepping walls, some installation, and gallery sitting just to name a few.
