Interested in learning the basics of matting and framing your photographs?
In addition to saving money it’s a wonderful way to explore creative options from various mat sizes and offsets, textures and tones to frame widths, finishes and colors. When done well framing protects and enhances your printed photograph.
Lea Murphy has been framing her photographic work for clients and exhibitions for well over ten years and will show you the tips and tricks she’s learned along the way to make it easy and enjoyable. Lea’s workshop will cover how to figure your mat size and opening, how to determine an offset if desired, proper frame size and width, as well as the various tools you’ll need to make sure your framing run smoothly—archival tape, clips, point gun, backing paper, bumpers, hanging hardware, and how to knot your wire so it doesn’t come undone and drop your frame to the ground. The materials Lea uses and recommends are all archival.
This is a demonstration workshop…Lea will frame a photograph start to finish so come ready to watch and ask questions.
