This is our annual juried exhibition and one of the most preeminent shows in Kansas City. Every year we choose a high caliber juror to select and curate the show. They have the responsibility to go through hundreds of submissions to bring it down to a cohesive series of images that formulate in their mind.
In the past we have had several museum curators, such as Jan Schall and Keith Davis from the Nelson Atkins Museum of Modern Art, and Megan Benitz of the Albrecht-Kemper Museum. We had a prolific collector, Larry Meeker. A gallery owner, Philipp Eirich owner of Cerbera Gallery who signed several artists for representation. In addition to prominent nationally and internationally known photographers, Patty Carroll and this year was Deanna Dikeman.
Deanna had an interest challenge to select the 40 out of almost 250 images. This year’s show consists of 40 images by 40 different photographers. It is quite the show too.
Check out a few of the images from the show as well as the Juror’s talk.
